Irrigation and Agricultural Drainage

The North and Central Perai Irrigation Project acquired its water source from Sg. Muda, Sg. Jarak and Sg. Kulim passes through either by pumping or by gravity.

Water supply for Irrigation Scheme Sg.Muda obtained from the Young River. It utilizes the pumping system through the Five Roof pump station and is channeled through Taliar Sungai Muda to supply the water as a whole. The 6120 ha Sg.Muda Scheme. Some of the pumped water from the Single Pin Station was diverted to Sg. Kreh. It is one of the tributaries that flows into Sg. Distance for use of Tampang Tree Irrigation Scheme and Menora Field Block. Both blocks utilize the pumping system of Sg. Distance via Supply Sg. Distance and Pump Field Station. Sg.Kulim Irrigation Scheme received its water supply from Sg. Kulim through Main Supply Sg. Kulim. It was channeled through Taliair Sg.Kulim. The overall extent of the Scheme Sg. The cistern developed with the infra system is 1408 ha.

Irrigation Scheme Sg.Acheh was part of the paddy field developed by the IADA Krian Sungai Manik in 1979. In 1999, management and development of this scheme area was acquired by IADA Penang. The Acheh River Irrigation Scheme is divided into 2 blocks consisting of Block 27 with a total area of 759 hectares and Block 28 covering 650 hectares with a total area of 1389 hectares. Generally the Sg Irrigation System. Acheh gets its water supply from the Bukit Bukit Merah Pool and Pam Sg House. Bogak is located in Bagan Serai, Perak. Water is supplied through the Main Canal, Sg Canal. Acheh, the second, third rhymes and on to the rice fields. As the scheme is located at the end of the Quarantine Irrigation System the frequency of shortage of supply is high especially in the dry season and in the middle of the season when farmers are in need of simultaneous water supply.

In the Southwestern District, water supply is obtained directly from the Bird River using the gravity system for Phase 1 and 2 Bird River Irrigation Scheme through Taliair SA and SB and Kemunting Scheme. For the Tok Kiat Bakau irrigation scheme, the water system is used through Taliair Sg. Bird. The Kenanga Tree Irrigation Scheme received water from Sg.Titi Teras which flows through the Kenanga Tree Taliair.
